Shadow warriors? PART I

25 04 2009

This is the first of two parts of an article covering Liverpool’s trip to Hull.

Corny headlines aside, Liverpool were certainly a shadow of a team that scored 4 goals against Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester Utd.

In today’s 34th round of the premier league, Liverpool played Hull City at the latter’s home ground whose name eludes me at the current moment. Liverpool were shabby throughout the first half with Hull posing a larger threat than the esteemed and lauded Reds! Although Liverpool lead 1-0 at half time from a Xabi Alonso belter, it was from a free kick given wrongly by the referee in Liverpool’s favor. It must be noted that in the era of cut throat competition in the Premier League, this kind of stuff happens and Hull would want to deal with it. Liverpool would want to raise their game in the 2nd half.
