Liverpool 3 Bolton Wanderers 0

26 12 2008

Boxing day saw Liverpool achieve an emphatic 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers allowing the former to stay 1 point ahead of Chelsea. Riera’s first half goal and 2 second half goals from Robbie Keane did all the damage. Bolton looked to be struggling from the first minute and never looked in control of the game.

At last, Liverpool have broken a run constituted of a series of draws that should have otherwise been facile victories last year! The reds take on Newcastle Utd 0n sunday. Owen and Newcastle will certainly prove to be a tougher opposition that Bolton and Liverpool would need to take maximum points this weekend.

A tantalising home encounter against Everton starts next year for Liverpool! I am looking forward to the next couple of games as it is crucial for Liverpool to win these to stay on track!
